Spring: Vernal Equinox
The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west. This year March 20 is designated at the first day of spring. (The Old Farmer’s Almanac: First Day of Spring 2014 – Vernal Equinox)
Cessation of winter, graciously giving way to the wiles of spring.
Rebirth of flora and fauna.
New beginnings
Rhythm of Emergence
Fresh and new.
Mother Nature’s party look
Sow. Germinate. Sprout. Grow. Blossom!
Awakening.
Rain, refresh, rinse, new vision.
New Gift
Kingdom Animalia: Migratory return. Emergence from hibernation. Ritual of nesting, mating and birth – begins another cycle of life.
Creation. Bold Expression.
All these examples teach us, show us or remind us how to “herald a coming forth in our own life”. They example for us how to begin anew, open self to new activities, new possibilities, new life. Resurrect our innate gifts from the inward nurturing of ideas and express them outwardly.
Springtime, March, April and May, are the perfect periods to partner with the rhythm of the seasons and initiate new endeavors, manifesting our tomorrows through the evolution of dreams to ideas to action.
We can begin by releasing, letting go of old patterns, making way for the sprouting of new order, new growth in our lives. Next consciously balance our polarities – assert our will of our “personality” in areas where we find ourselves “stuck’ in old thoughts and feelings that are not serving us any longer. Give equal time to our own “night” and “day” sides. Time in meditation will bring those inner creative forces to the surface and manifest new beginnings.
Just as the spring brings winds that blow away the leavings of winter, rain to wash the muddy path and water the seedlings, and sun to energize new growth, let us open the doors to our hearts and shine our light on all who pass our way.
