Everyday Wellness with Essential Oils

Every holistic modality respects and cherishes the intimate relationship and connection between body and soul stonesour mind and emotions, our body and our spirit. Essential oils are thought to influence heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, the stress response and other critical processes controlled by the limbic system. This cascade of events positively impacts your mood, propelling you from one emotional state to another.

Cell Vibration and Our Health
It is believed that cells in the human body vibrate at a fast rate when healthy and that unhealthy cells vibrate more slowly, with cancer cells vibrating at a much lower rate than healthy cells.  As cell vibration slows that is when things like infection, viruses and other negative conditions are able to take up residence in the human body.  As we raise our vibration, those dis-eases can no longer reside where cell vibration is higher.

Furthermore, in alternative medicine we typically subscribe to the concept that outside factors have a direct effect on our physical, mental, spiritual and emotional energy bodies, thus outside factors also have an effect on the rate of cell vibration and can increase our state of physical health or contribute to a decrease in health.  Which is why CAM* practitioners are so completely sold on what they do. I have never met another practitioner or even a client of a CAM practice who said “I think it kinda works, but I’m not sure”.  We have all experienced first-hand the positive health effects of our chosen modalities for ourselves, our families, our clients and our pets – over and over. My personal favorite practices for raising cell vibration and maintaining positive health are Reiki, Meditation, and Essential Oils**.

Human bodies are not the only ones running off of a vibration energy – plants, animals, water, the spoken or written word, even solid mass such as stones and soil have a vibration.  Each one unique.  Different plants (and therefore essential oils which derived from plants) vibrate differently and thus are thought to have an influence on differing health issues.  Their energetic influence is thought to raise our cell vibration and enhance our overall health through a non-chemical, natural process.

What Inspired Gary Young to Create Young Living Essential Oils
Gary Young’s article, Frequency and Distillation — Human Electrical Frequencies and Fields shares what inspired him to create Young Living Essential Oils: “For a number of years during my clinical practice, I researched the use of electrical energy for the purpose of reversing the disease process. I kept feeling that there had to be a more natural way of increasing a person’s electrical frequency, which led to the discovery of the electrical frequency of oils.”

His article goes on to explain that frequency is the rate at which electrical energy is constant between two points. Everything has an electrical frequency and can be measured in Megahertz. Bruce Tainio of Tainio Technology in Cheney, Washington, developed equipment to measure the bio-frequency of humans and foods. He worked with Gary Young to determine the relationship of frequency to disease and some of their research follows:

  • A healthy body, from head to foot, typically has a frequency ranging from 62 to 78 MHz, while disease begins at 58 MHz.
  • The frequency of essential oils started at 52 MHz and went as high as 320 MHz, which is the frequency of rose oil.
  • In a Frequency and Coffee Experiment two males began with a frequency of 66 MHz. In the experiment, Gary used essential oils to raise the vibration. (Similarly, you can raise the vibration with your reiki, prayer, declarations, thoughts of love).
    • Male A: held a cup of coffee, without drinking any. In 3 seconds, his frequency dropped to 58 MHz. He removed the coffee and inhaled essential oils. Within 21 seconds, his frequency returned to 66 MHz.
    • Male B: took a sip of coffee. In 3 seconds, his frequency dropped to 52 MHz. No essential oils were used. It took 3 days for his frequency to return to 66 MHz
    • As this experiment indicates, our frequency changes as things move in and out of our energy field.
    • Frequency and Thoughts Experiment
      • Negative thoughts lowered the frequency by 12 MHz
      • Positive thoughts raised the frequency by 10 MHz
      • Prayer and meditation increased the frequency by 15 MHz

*CAM stand for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.  The AMA 2012 Health Care Careers Directory lists Reiki as Energy Medicine under the category of Complimentary and Alternative Medicine and Therapies (CAM). The directory presents the National Institute of Health’s definition for CAM as “a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not presently considered to be part of conventional medicine. Complementary medicine is used together with conventional medicine, and alternative medicine is used in place of conventional medicine”. It is noted that “the list of what is considered to be CAM changes continually, as those therapies that are proved to be safe and effective become adopted into conventional health care and as new approaches to health care emerge”.

** I also love using healing stones, sound and color in some instances.  There are many other wonderful CAM practices such as Acupuncture, Therapeutic Massage, Yoga, etc, however, I am not experienced in those areas so cannot speak to them, however, I  would encourage all to try those that present themselves for you.
